Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The Angolan ambassador to Zambia, Albino Malungo, expressed, in Lusaka, satisfaction with the initiatives that promote the resurgence of the Angola\u2013Zambia Chamber of Commerce, considered fundamental for strengthening economic relations between the two countries.<\/b><\/p>\n

The diplomat was speaking at the ceremony celebrating the 50th anniversary of National Independence, celebrated on November 11th, and said that the reactivation of the Chamber of Commerce constitutes a decisive step in promoting business partnerships and creating an environment favorable to bilateral cooperation.<\/p>\n

The ambassador highlighted that Zambian businesspeople develop projects in Angola and Angolan entrepreneurs identify new opportunities in the Zambian market.<\/p>\n

He recalled that citizens of both countries travel without the need for visas, also highlighting that the Angolan satellite Angosat-2 already provides services in Zambian territory.<\/p>\n

He also mentioned the presence of the Zambian company SEEDCO, located in Angola, as an important contribution to the national agricultural sector.<\/p>\n

Regarding connectivity, Albino Malungo stated that the return of TAAG flights to Lusaka, scheduled soon, represents a gain for the mobility of people and goods, reinforcing economic integration and commercial exchange.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur objective is to transform political and economic relations with Zambia into an example of interconnected Africa, with a strong, modern internal market resistant to current challenges\u201d, he declared.<\/p>\n

The diplomat also referred to Angola’s public investments in the energy sector, which include 72 power plants, including hydroelectric, thermoelectric, solar and hybrid, in addition to transmission lines and emergency thermal plants.<\/p>\n

According to him, this capacity could benefit Zambia within the scope of bilateral understanding.<\/p>\n

Albino Malungo also welcomed the initiatives of international partners, with emphasis on the European Union, which finances the extension of the Lobito Corridor into Zambian territory, surpassing years of conceptual projects and initiating concrete actions with regional impact.<\/p>\n

The ambassador also highlighted the tribute paid by President Joa\u0303o Lourenc\u0327o to the former Zambian Head of State Kenneth Kaunda, awarded the 50 Years Medal of Honor, a gesture that reinforces the historical link between the two peoples.<\/p>\n

He thanked the Zambian people and authorities for welcoming, over the years, Angolans who sought refuge or support for the national liberation struggle.<\/p>\n

The celebration included a recitation of poems by Agostinho Neto, the showing of a video alluding to Angola’s 50th anniversary, a painting exhibition and tasting of typical dishes from various provinces of the country.<\/p>\n
