Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The training of young people in theology and the recovery of moral, cultural and religious values \u200b\u200bcontinue to be the main priorities of the Reformed Evangelical Church in Angola (IERA), according to its general secretary, Deolinda Teca, who took office in this position this Sunday (16).<\/b><\/p>\n

The reverend, speaking during the solemn inauguration ceremony as re-elected general secretary and legal representative, reinforced that the IERA, since its foundation, has already trained many young people, a tradition that will continue, to ensure the strengthening of the church.<\/p>\n

Alongside theological training, Deolinda Teca stated that the religious denomination will also prioritize training in other social areas, to respond to the current challenges of society.<\/p>\n

She also pointed to the promotion of unity, prayer and service for the church, as well as the fight against gender violence as other challenges that will dominate her mandate.<\/p>\n

Under the motto “I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the growth,” the Sunday service was attended by delegations from all provinces of the country, religious and governmental entities, representatives of political parties, diplomats and members of civil society, as well as foreign guests.<\/p>\n

Founded on June 25, 1922, in the town of Kikaya, Ui\u0301ge province, by missionaries Archibald Patterson (British) and Ernest Nicklaus (Swiss), the IERA is one of the traditional churches in Angola, officially recognized by the Angolan government.<\/p>\n
