Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The Minister of Public Administration, Work and Social Security proposed, on Monday, in Geneva, Switzerland, the opening of a sub-regional office of the International Labor Organization (ILO) in Angola, to serve the Portuguese-speaking African Countries (PALOP). ).<\/b><\/p>\n

The minister’s proposal is part of the adoption of the 1986 amendment to the Constitution, which proposes an equitable democratization of the ILO to member countries. Teresa Rodrigues Dias was speaking during the 110th International Labor Conference, which takes place in Geneva, Switzerland, from the 27th of May and ends on the 11th of June.<\/p>\n

The minister mentioned that in 2019, the ILO completed a century of existence and, in these terms, Angola highlighted that the principles of Equity and Social Justice can only be fully achieved when all regions are represented equally in the decision-making bodies.<\/p>\n

The International Conference of the ILO, sometimes called the world labor parliament, is the largest international meeting dedicated to the sector and has the participation of representatives of Governments, employers and workers from ILO member states.<\/p>\n

Delegates discuss the main issues related to the world of work, adopt and monitor the application of international standards, define the priorities and budget of the ILO at the global level.<\/p>\n

During her speech, the MAPTSS minister highlighted that the presence of the Angolan delegation testifies to the long tradition of collaboration between the States and the specialized United Nations Organization, which is why she considers it the right moment to reflect on the progress.<\/p>\n
