Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The Minister of Higher Education, Science, Technology and Innovation, Maria Bragan\u00e7a Sambo, this Monday, in Dundo, launched the stone for the beginning of the construction works of the University Campus that will house the headquarters of the rectory and the faculties. of Law and Economics at the Lueji A’Nkonde University, in the capital of Lunda-Norte.<\/b><\/p>\n

Budgeted at US$50 million, the project is financed by Endiama, with support from Sodiam. These are two state-owned companies in the diamond sector that appear with this support, within the framework of social responsibility.<\/p>\n

The campus will be built in an area of \u200b\u200b19 thousand square meters, on the side of Estrada Nacional 225. The contractual term for the conclusion of the works is 24 months, according to Engevia, the company responsible for the construction. In terms of structure, the P\u00f3lo Universit\u00e1rio should include the building of the central services of the rectory, Law faculties, with 32 classrooms, and Economics, with 42.<\/p>\n

The pole will also include a room for practical law classes, such as the simulated court, playing fields for different sports and leisure areas, in addition to an expansion area for teachers and students’ residences. Speaking at the ceremony, the Minister of Higher Education, Science, Technology and Innovation highlighted that the construction of the University Campus for Lueji A’Nkonde University, in Dundo, is part of the actions that the Angolan Executive has as perspectives for the long-term development of the higher education subsystem in the country.<\/p>\n

Maria Bragan\u00e7a sambo said that it was not just about building infrastructure, but also about equipping them with equipment for all activities. Despite the difficult environment, mainly of a financial nature, that the country has been facing, he highlighted the fact that the President of the Republic, Jo\u00e3o Louren\u00e7o, managed to find solutions for the construction of the University Campus of Dundo, which “meets the needs of the institutions of higher education”.<\/p>\n

“The State is fully aware of the existing challenges, in view of the expansion and growth of higher education in the country, which began in 2009, from the moment the Agostinho Neto University was resized”, he said.<\/p>\n

Quality In Training <\/b>
\nMinister Maria Bragan\u00e7a Sambo considered that the expansion of higher education must mean quality in the training of staff.<\/p>\n

Therefore, he defended that investment in infrastructure should arise from the need to provide a suitable environment for students, teachers, non-teaching staff and researchers, “making the entire process of teaching, administrative management, maintenance and conservation properly framed\u201d.<\/p>\n

In the minister’s view, the project to build the University Campus of Dundo will create decent infrastructure for all activities, having highlighted the fact that a simulated courtroom is included, intended for the practical exercise of students of the Faculty of Law. The minister thanked public companies in the mining sector, namely Endiama and Sodiam, for their contribution to the development of higher education.<\/p>\n

Maria Bragan\u00e7a Sambo recalled that, within the framework of the development of the Higher Education Subsystem, specifically the improvement of conditions for the institutions, a public tender was opened for the admission of 469 teachers, and for the organic units of Dundo there are 56 vacancies for assistants interns. This, she stressed, will allow the best graduates to apply.<\/p>\n

He guaranteed that the public tender will be carried out with rigor and in compliance with all the rules that regulate the process. The minister clarified that the contest will not be extended to all higher education institutions in the country. She said that those with significant shortcomings were selected, including the Lueji A’Nkonde University.<\/p>\n

The Minister of Mineral Resources, Oil and Gas, Diamantino Azevedo highlighted Endiama’s social responsibility, having accepted the challenge of financing the construction of infrastructure to serve the Lueji A’Nkonde University.<\/p>\n
