Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong> <\/span>The Embassy of Angola in Egypt delivered, on Wednesday, as a donation, 16 books by renowned Angolan authors to the Cervantes Institute, a Spanish Government institution dedicated to teaching the Spanish language and spreading Spanish culture in that country.<\/b><\/p>\n

The initiative is part of the program to celebrate the 65th anniversary of the beginning of the armed struggle for national liberation and aims to reinforce the bibliographic collection of the Instituto Cervantes library with works of Angolan literature translated into Spanish.<\/p>\n

The donation includes titles by authors such as O\u0301scar Ribas, Costa Andrade, Roderick Nehone, Manuel Rui Monteiro, Luandino Vieira and Uanhenga Xitu, among others, whose works cover short stories and reports inspired by real life, reflecting objectivity and subjectivity, feelings and emotions, expressed in chronicles, poetry and novels.<\/p>\n

On the occasion, the second secretary of the Angolan Embassy in Egypt, Maria Madalena, representing ambassador Maquento Lopes, stated that the gesture constitutes a follow-up to contacts that began in September 2025, a period in which the Instituto Cervantes lent, as a sponsorship, its facilities to hold an event promoted by the Angolan diplomatic mission, commemorating National Hero’s Day.<\/p>\n

When heading the diplomatic mission present at the event, Maria Madalena recalled that, on that occasion, both institutions began a partnership that they intend to consolidate with mutual benefits.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is in this context that today we visit your facilities to jointly mark the delivery of 16 works by renowned Angolan authors, translated into Spanish\u201d, he stated.<\/p>\n

In addition to the books, the Embassy of Angola also offered five CDs of the album \u201cKene\u0301 Kimoxi\u201d, by the group Kituxi, founded in 1980 and considered one of the most emblematic groups of traditional Angolan music, known for the use of traditional instruments such as the dikanza, the hungu, the pui\u0301ta, the kissanje and various types of drums.<\/p>\n

In turn, the director of the Instituto Cervantes in Egypt, Jose\u0301 Alba Pastor, praised the initiative of the Embassy of Angola and expressed interest in promoting, in the next phase, cultural exchanges in the fields of dance and music, with artists from both countries sharing the institution’s stage, with a view to strengthening the existing partnership.<\/p>\n

As part of the celebrations of the 65th anniversary of the beginning of the armed struggle for national liberation, the Angolan Embassy in Egypt has also scheduled, for the 12th, the holding of a political-cultural and solidarity event, which will feature the participation of the Angolan community residing in the Arab Republic of Egypt.<\/p>\n
