Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong> <\/span>A documentary work entitled \u201cInterclube, One Nation, 50 Years of History Transforming Generations\u201d was launched this Thursday in Luanda, as part of the celebrations of the fiftieth anniversary of this sports group.<\/b><\/p>\n

With 476 pages, distributed in 33 chapters, the book, authored by journalist Carlos Pacavira, brings together memories of the eight sports of the club affiliated with the Ministry of the Interior, between 1976 and 2026.<\/p>\n

The publication, of one thousand copies, portrays the trajectory of football, basketball, handball, athletics, judo, boxing, clay pigeon shooting and cycling, highlighting achievements, challenges and the contribution of the association to the development of national sport.<\/p>\n

The launch event included an autograph session and was attended, among other personalities, by the Minister of the Interior, Manuel Homem, in his capacity as president of the club’s general assembly.Sports leaders and guests from various sectors of society were also present.<\/p>\n

On the occasion, the president of Interclube, Alexandre Canelas, considered that the 50th anniversary celebration symbolizes the historical journey and contribution of the organization to the popularization of sport in Angola.<\/p>\n

He recalled that the institution, which was formerly known as the Angolan Police Corps (CPA) and the People’s Police Corps of Angola (CPPA), has established itself as one of the main references in the national sporting landscape.<\/p>\n

He highlighted the infrastructure transformations that have taken place over this period, noting that the club started without its own headquarters, field, or pavilion and currently possesses structures considered among the best in the country.<\/p>\n

Among the ongoing projects, he highlighted the construction of a pavilion with greater capacity than the current one, and a high-performance center dedicated to the comprehensive training of athletes.<\/p>\n

According to the director, the publication of the work will allow younger generations to learn about the legacy of the founders and all those who contributed to establishing Interclube in the Angolan sporting context.<\/p>\n

In turn, the author explained that the work resulted from exhaustive research, marked by constraints in accessing oral and documentary sources, given the age of the events and the scarcity of archives.<\/p>\n

The work also addresses significant moments in different sports, with emphasis on basketball and football, including the historic rivalry with Clube Desportivo 1o de Agosto and Petro Atle\u0301tico de Luanda.<\/p>\n
