{"id":98597,"date":"2026-04-03T11:49:10","date_gmt":"2026-04-03T11:49:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/angola\/all-news\/unicef-supports-balanced-public-finances-in-angola"},"modified":"2026-04-03T11:49:10","modified_gmt":"2026-04-03T11:49:10","slug":"unicef-supports-balanced-public-finances-in-angola","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/angola\/all-news\/unicef-supports-balanced-public-finances-in-angola","title":{"rendered":"UNICEF Supports Balanced Public Finances in Angola"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span class=\"ap-article-header-tag\">           <strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Angola. <\/strong>         <\/span><b>The acting representative of the United Nations Children&#8217;s Fund (UNICEF) in Angola, Cristina Brugiolo, reaffirmed on Tuesday in Luanda, the organization&#8217;s support to the government in promoting more effective and balanced public finances.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Speaking at the presentation of the 2026 General State Budget (OGE), the head of this United Nations Agency also spoke of a continued commitment to the wide dissemination and accessibility of the Budget to the people.<\/p>\n<p>The UN representative said the Citizen Budget plays an essential role, as it allows people to understand, monitor and participate in the use of public resources, strengthening transparency, accountability and democracy.<\/p>\n<p>Cristina Brugiolo pointed out that the objective of UNICEF and the Angolan government continues to be to reach more children, young people and citizens from other sectors, promoting informed and active participation in the discussion of the State Budget.<\/p>\n<p>According to the official, this aims to ensure that public resources have a real impact on people&#8217;s lives, especially Angolan children.<\/p>\n<p>The National Director of the Budget, Edila\u0301zio Caleia, on her turn explained that the Citizen&#8217;s Budget essentially translates the State Budget into clearer, more accessible and educational language, allowing everyone to better understand how public resources are managed.<\/p>\n<p>He argued that this strategy, which has been underway for five years, reinforces the principle of transparency in the management of public money.<\/p>\n<p>The presentation of the Citizen&#8217;s Budget was attended by representatives of civil society organizations and high school and university students.<\/p>\n<p>The Citizen Budget is an annual publication whose objective is to present, in an accessible way, the most relevant elements of the State Budget, encouraging civic participation.<\/p>\n<p>It is developed by the Ministry of Finance, in partnership with the United Nations Children&#8217;s Fund (UNICEF).<\/p>\n<p class=\"ap-article-footer-note\">           Find more news and analyses on           <span class=\"ap-highlight-country\">Angola<\/span>           on the           <span class=\"ap-highlight-brand\">Africa Press<\/span>           website         <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Africa-Press &#8211; Angola.
