{"id":98727,"date":"2026-04-07T11:08:29","date_gmt":"2026-04-07T11:08:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/angola\/all-news\/njila-project-rehabilitates-birth-registration-posts"},"modified":"2026-04-07T12:11:39","modified_gmt":"2026-04-07T12:11:39","slug":"njila-project-rehabilitates-birth-registration-posts","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/angola\/all-news\/njila-project-rehabilitates-birth-registration-posts","title":{"rendered":"Njila Project Rehabilitates Birth Registration Posts"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Angola. <\/strong><\/span><b>Eleven birth registration posts were rehabilitated in 2025 in the province of Bie\u0301, and another 13 are in the conclusive stage in Huambo province, as part of the components of the Angolan Government&#8217;s &#8220;Njila&#8221; project.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>The Njila project regional director for Huambo and Bie\u0301, Hila\u0301ria Macedo Chipindo, said that this is stage III of the project, which aims to expand birth registration and issuance of the Identity Card, under the responsibility of the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights.<\/p>\n<p>She said that the 11 stations in Bie\u0301 have already been equipped and five of them have been operating since August 2025, mostly in mother and child centers.<\/p>\n<p>The director added that registration shops are being identified to also be rehabilitated in the municipalities of Ecunha (Huambo) and Chitembo (Bie\u0301).<\/p>\n<p>She highlighted that, in 2025, mass campaigns for birth registration and ID issuance were carried out in the municipality of Huambo, in the neighborhoods of Lufefena, Casseques 1,2 and 3, Bele\u0301m and Dango, which benefited more than two thousand and 500 people.<\/p>\n<p>In the municipality of Cuito (Bie\u0301), he continued, the same initiative covered more than two thousand 800 people, mostly aged 13 and over.<\/p>\n<p>Hila\u0301ria Macedo Chipindo signaled that, in 2025, 18 training actions were carried out, in partnership with the National School of Administration and Public Policies (ENAPP), in addition to strengthening institutional capacity with municipal administrations, to train the institution&#8217;s technicians and members of the Municipal Budget Technical Committee and the Social Hearing Council.<\/p>\n<p>She said that, internally, more than 1,600 residents were trained in Huambo and Bie\u0301, with important subjects to mitigate problems related to environmental and social issues, harassment, sexual abuse and domestic violence.<\/p>\n<p>She informed that for Huambo and Bie\u0301, seven development support expenditure projects were financed and executed until December 2025, linked to the acquisition of IT equipment, the application of toponymy signs and the equipping of a municipal administration.<\/p>\n<p>Alongside these, he said that in the two provinces there are six other public investment projects registered, with only the financial execution missing, which aim to rehabilitate and expand the municipal administrations of Caa\u0301la, Londuimbali and Camacupa, some municipal and communal directorates and a school.<\/p>\n<p>According to the official, a greater number of projects are expected to be registered by 2026, 31 in Huambo and 36 in Bie\u0301, mostly linked to the rehabilitation and construction of access roads, health centers, administrative residences, medical posts and schools, in addition to the acquisition of lightning rods, basic sanitation equipment and ambulances.<\/p>\n<p>In the province of Huambo, the &#8220;Njila&#8221; project operates in 12 municipalities, namely Alto-Hama, Bailundo, Bimbe, Caa\u0301la, Cachiungo, Chicala-Cholohanga, Cuima, Huambo, Galanga, Londuimbali, Sambo and Mungo.<\/p>\n<p>In Bie\u0301, the project covers 13 municipalities, namely Andulo, Catabola, Camacupa, Chinguar, Calussinga, Chicala, Camba\u0301ndua, Chipeta, Cuito, Lu\u0301bia, Nhareia, Mpulu and Ringoma.<\/p>\n<p>The project, with financing of 250 million dollars from the World Bank (WB), is coordinated by the Ministry of Territorial Administration and supported by the ministries of Finance, Justice and Human Rights, Public Works, Urban Planning and Housing and Public Administration, Labor and Social Security.<\/p>\n<p>The initiative, launched in 2023, is being implemented in eight provinces of the country, namely Benguela, Bie\u0301, Cuanza-Sul, Cunene, Huambo, Hui\u0301la, Luanda and Ui\u0301ge, in a total of 53 municipalities.<\/p>\n<p><strong>For More News And Analysis About <span style=\"color: #ff6600\">Angola<\/span> Follow <span style=\"color: #ff6600\">Africa-Press<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Africa-Press &#8211; Angola.
