Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The Provincial Orchestra of Hui\u0301la, called “Okamene\u0301”, was presented on Saturday, in Lubango, during a cultural act alluding to the celebrations of the 24th anniversary of the Day of Peace and National Reconciliation.<\/b><\/p>\n

The initiative was promoted by the Lubango Arts Center, in partnership with the Provincial Office of Culture and Tourism of the Government of Hui\u0301la, as part of a set of cultural activities that marked the event.<\/p>\n

The orchestra was created with the purpose of boosting classical music in the province and reinforcing the cultural component in institutional and commemorative events.<\/p>\n

In this initial phase, the group is composed of 14 members, including musicians trained and in training at the Arts Center, according to the director of the institution, Nelson Anto\u0301nio Dongala.<\/p>\n

Speaking, the official said that the project is the result of an orientation of the provincial government, which expressed interest in seeing Hui\u0301la equipped with an orchestra.<\/p>\n

He explained that the current members are mostly young people who graduated from the Lubango Arts Center more than two years ago, the result of a continuous training process.<\/p>\n

The project also has a social component, with the ambition of integrating children and adolescents from disadvantaged backgrounds in the future.<\/p>\n

The goal, according to the official, is to expand the orchestra to more than a hundred members, consolidating a sustainable project in the long term.<\/p>\n

During the official presentation, the orchestra performed the National Anthem, symbolically marking the beginning of its public activity.<\/p>\n

He stressed that the creation of “Okamene\u0301” represents an important step in strengthening the arts in Hui\u0301la, contributing to the appreciation of local talents and the enrichment of the cultural offer.<\/p>\n

The show also included other artistic expressions, such as dance, poetry and theater, all focused on promoting peace and national unity, and brought together a diverse audience.<\/p>\n
