{"id":98739,"date":"2026-04-07T11:16:36","date_gmt":"2026-04-07T11:16:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/angola\/all-news\/peace-a-symbol-of-resilience-and-commitment-to-well-being"},"modified":"2026-04-07T12:13:42","modified_gmt":"2026-04-07T12:13:42","slug":"peace-a-symbol-of-resilience-and-commitment-to-well-being","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/angola\/all-news\/peace-a-symbol-of-resilience-and-commitment-to-well-being","title":{"rendered":"Peace a Symbol of Resilience and Commitment to Well-Being"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Angola. <\/strong><\/span><b>Apolo Ndinoulenga, deputy governor for political, social and economic affairs in Cunene Province, stated on Saturday in the municipality of Nehone that the achievement of peace on 4 April 2002 stood as a symbol of resilience, courage and commitment to the common good.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Speaking at the provincial event marking the 24th anniversary of the Day of Peace and National Reconciliation, he said the Memorandum of Understanding, signed between Angolans, made it possible to transform the country\u2019s political, social and economic landscape.<\/p>\n<p>With the achievement of peace, he said that the Angolan government had drawn up public policies aimed at rebuilding destroyed infrastructure and constructing new infrastructure, laying the foundations for sustainable development.<\/p>\n<p>Apolo Ndinoulenga highlighted investments in the rehabilitation of transport links, social and economic infrastructure, the restoration of the free movement of people and goods, and the return of communities to agricultural activities.<\/p>\n<p>Apolo Ndinoulenga added that the former battlefields, once ravaged, have now been transformed into areas of production and wealth generation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe sound of weapons has been replaced by the voice of democracy, harmony and peaceful coexistence, making Angola a harmonious country, with security and stability, based on the principles of the democratic state and the rule of law,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>He also highlighted the strengthening of public safety, the promotion of entrepreneurship, and the creation of opportunities for self-employment and access to decent housing.<\/p>\n<p>Located 64 kilometres from Ondjiva, the capital of Cunene Province, the municipality of Nehone has a population of 181,968, spread across two communes and 20 villages.<\/p>\n<p>The event was attended by members of the government, members of parliament, and representatives of the defense and security forces, political parties, traditional and religious leaders, youth associations and the general public.<\/p>\n<p>Peace in Angola resulted from the Memorandum of Understanding Supplementary to the Lusaka Protocol, signed between the Angolan Government and UNITA on 4 April 2002 in the city of Luena, Moxico Province.<\/p>\n<p><strong>For More News And Analysis About <span style=\"color: #ff6600\">Angola<\/span> Follow <span style=\"color: #ff6600\">Africa-Press<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Africa-Press &#8211; Angola.
