Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>Angola’s ambassador to South Korea, Sianga Abi\u0301lio, defended on Friday in Seoul a strengthened cooperation between the Asian country and the African continent.<\/b><\/p>\n

The diplomat, according to a press release received, was speaking at the Angolan Embassy in South Korea during the monthly meeting of the Group of Ambassadors from African Countries (AGA).<\/p>\n

Among the various topics discussed, the work agenda focused on preparing for the meeting between the foreign ministers of Africa and the Korean government, scheduled for June.<\/p>\n

Sianga Abilio encouraged his counterparts to strengthen interaction with the central institutions of their respective countries, with a view to better preparing the documents to be discussed at the ministerial meeting.<\/p>\n

He also suggested that the Korean side be asked to define the format of the Business Forum, in order to guarantee the participation of companies from African countries.<\/p>\n

South Korea has been expanding its presence on the African continent in recent years, seeking to strengthen diplomatic and economic ties.<\/p>\n

These ministerial meetings usually serve to align strategic interests and create new opportunities for cooperation between African countries and the Korean government.<\/p>\n

The meeting of the Group of African Ambassadors in South Korea was also marked by a farewell dinner in honor of the Tanzanian ambassador, Tologani Mavura, recently appointed to the same post at the United Nations in New York.<\/p>\n
