Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The National Assemblies of Angola and Mozambique will assess, starting on Monday (27) in Maputo, the strengthening of bilateral cooperation, within the framework of the 4-day official visit of the Angolan parliament Speaker, Ada\u0303o de Almeida, to this Indian Ocean country.<\/b><\/p>\n

Upon Sunday’s arrival, in the Mozambican capital, Ada\u0303o de Almeida was received by the first Deputy-Speaker of the Assembly of the Republic of Mozambique, He\u0301lder Ernesto Injojo.<\/p>\n

The Monday agenda also includes a working meeting with his counterpart, Margarida Talapa, followed by official talks between the two delegations and the signing of a cooperation program.<\/p>\n

The instrument covers several parliamentary domains, with emphasis on legislative production, oversight of government action, as well as the organization and functioning of institutions.<\/p>\n

On the same day, the head of the Angolan parliament will participate in a special solemn session at the Assembly of the Republic of Mozambique, during which he will deliver a message of greeting to the Mozambican deputies.<\/p>\n

The Angolan delegation, composed of deputies Manuel Dembo, Alcides Sakala and Elizandra Coelho, also has a scheduled audience with the President of the Republic of Mozambique, Daniel Chapo, in addition to visits to the city of Matola and its Municipal Council, where a courtesy meeting with the governor of Maputo province is scheduled.<\/p>\n

The program also includes visits to places of historical and cultural interest, including the Monument to Mozambican Heroes, the Matola Historical Interpretation Center, the National Geology Museum, the Mafalala Museum, and the Mozambique Ports and Railways Company.<\/p>\n

At Eduardo Mondlane University, Ada\u0303o de Almeida will give a lecture to students on the theme “The Constitutional Position of Parliament in Angola: Challenges and Perspectives,” following a visit to the institution’s facilities.<\/p>\n

Angola and Mozambique maintain a parliamentary cooperation considered solid, based on the sharing of best practices in the legislative and institutional fields, as well as the training and technical capacity building of deputies and staff.<\/p>\n

The two countries act in a coordinated manner in regional and international organizations, such as the SADC Parliamentary Forum and the Pan-African Parliament, where they defend common interests related to development, peace, and regional security.<\/p>\n

The cooperation between the parliaments of Angola and Mozambique is thus established as a strategic partnership, with an impact on political coordination, institutional learning, and the construction of joint solutions to common challenges.<\/p>\n
