Africa-Press – Botswana. The Angolan ambassador to Botswana, Beatriz Morais, held a working meeting, Wednesday, with the Deputy Executive Secretary of SADC for Corporate Affairs, Joseph Nourrice.
The meeting aimed to analyze matters related to the preparation of the 43rd Ordinary Summit of the Community for the Development of Southern Africa (SADC), which Angola hosts in August 2023, says in a note the Embassy of Angola in Botswana.
The meeting, held at SADC headquarters in Gaborone, also served to exchange views on the necessary procedures for the preparation of the event, under the terms of the Organization’s norms.
The document adds that on the occasion, the Deputy Executive Secretary of SADC informed that the Secretariat proposed the displacement of a work team to Luanda, in order to carry out a preparatory meeting for the Summit and the previous events.
The Secretariat work team that will initiate contacts with the institutions involved in the organization of the event will be led by the Deputy Executive Secretary of SADC.
The Angolan Head of State, João Lourenço, will be the next President of the Southern African Development Community (SADC), after being elected Vice – President of the Organization at the Summit of the Regional Organization, in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo ( DRC), in August 2022.
