Africa-Press – Botswana. The Human Resource Development Council (HRDC) who are the custodian of the national graduate database (Labour Market Observatory) currently has 106 graduates with a degree in Adult Education in the database.
The Minister of Education and Skills Development Dr Douglas Letsholathebe told members of Ntlo ya Dikgosi that the appointment of the graduates was determined by the availability of vacant positions.
“The ministry continues to absorb such graduates as and when vacancies occur and the latest of such appointment for Kgalagadi Region was made in January 2023,” he said.
Dr Letsholathebe was responding to Kgosi Moeti Monyamane of Kgalagdi North region who wanted to know the number of unemployed graduates who have a degree in Adult Education.
He also asked why the same graduates were not employed in the department of primary, secondary education and tertiary institutions, particularly Kang and Matsheng Brigades in the Kgalagadi District.
