Africa-Press – Botswana. President Dr Mokgweetsi Masisi, who returned home Monday from a week-long trip to the US, is scheduled to address a press conference at the Department of National Museum and Monuments today afternoon.
An Office of the President statement says the briefing will cover issues of national interest as well as outcomes of the ministerial African Continental Free Trade Area meeting, the recent AU summit and the US trip.
President Masisi’s US trip included official engagements in Dallas and Houston, Texas.
In Dallas, he officiated at the Botswana-Dallas business networking engagement co-organised by Axxess founder and president Mr John Olajide and Botswana Investment and Trade Centre.
President Masisi also toured the leading health care technology company’s Dallas headquarters.
Still in Dallas, the President visited the University of Texas where he lobbied for establishment of the institution in Botswana.
In Houston, he attended the world-famous livestock show and rodeo in pursuance of his livestock breeding and genetics dreams for Botswana.
The President was accompanied by First Lady Neo, Minister of Trade and Industry Mr Mmusi Kgafela, Minister of Entrepreneurship Mr Karabo Gare, Minister of Agriculture Mr Fidelis Molao, Minister of Health Dr Edwin Dikoloti and senior government officials.
