Africa-Press – Botswana. Botswana’s table tennis duo, Constance Kuswani and Olorato Ramagapu yesterday left to take part in the South African 2022 Open Championships conclusions slated for tomorrow at the Peninsula University of Technology in Cape Town, South Africa.
The championships, held last year October, could not reach conclusion in the stipulated time frame as a result of load-shedding, which then forced the competition to run behind schedule.
Botswana Table Tennis Association’s mouthpiece Tshegofatso Malepa said the tournament went as far as the ladder stages of the last 16.
Malepa said the local girls were amongst the last 40 athletes that got a call up for the conclusions including other athletes from 10 table tennis associations in South Africa.
They are expected back home on Monday.
