Africa-Press – Botswana. The Ministry of Education and Skills Development will hold the 24th Botswana Teachers Day Celebration and awards on Friday.
A press release from the ministry states that the celebration will be held in Francistown under the theme: Teach Today, Touch Lives Forever.
The release says this year, 116 teachers will be awarded medals and certificates for distinguished service.
It further states that the medals will be awarded under four different categories with 17 teachers awarded long and distinguished service award, 18 awarded meritorious service award.
About 18 teachers will receive silver jubilee service award while 63 will receive mid-career service award.
The awards, the statement says, are to appreciate teachers for their outstanding performance and contribution to the national development and service delivery.
Furthermore, celebrations will be held in the 10 regional operations offices in across the country.
