Africa-Press – Botswana. The senior women’s national team will play a friendly game with South Africa’s Banyana Banyana on Sunday at the neighbouring country’s Tsakane Stadium.

Banyana Banyana are preparing for the FIFA Women’s World Cup, which will be held in Australia and New Zealand from next month. The Mares are also preparing for the Olympic qualifiers and the COSAFA Cup Championships.

National team coach, Gaoletlhoo Nkutlwisang said she had selected a strong team that would give Banyana a good preparation ahead of their World Cup games. She also said the game would help the Mares to prepare as they would be campaigning to qualify for the Olympics. Nkutlwisang said most of the players selected for the game had travelled with the team to Morocco during AWCON.
