Africa-Press – Botswana. Deputy Minister in the Presidency, Mr Dumezweni Mthimkhulu said government values a consultative spirit when making decisions that affect the public.
Mr Mthimkhulu was speaking to members of the House of Chiefs yesterday, after King Lotlamoreng II tabled a motion in which he called for full consultation with the public on various issues.
Mr Mthimkhulu said government continued to consult with the public and take views on various issues including the naming of government buildings.
However, Kgosi Lotlamoreng II requested that the government give the community the opportunity to name the tribal buildings as they wished or advised, explaining that this would ensure that the places were given appropriate names . . . .
He said some buildings in his constituency do not have proper names such as Good Hope Hospital, post office as well as police buildings, and therefore asked that they be consulted to give them proper names.
