Africa-Press – Botswana. Botswana has cemented bilateral relations with Australia when it opened a diplomatic mission in the country in 2003, says President Dr Mokgweetsi Masisi.

Since then, Dr Masisi said Botswana had witnessed a steady growth in multifaceted cooperation model ranging from political to economic cooperation on diverse areas of mutual interest such as agriculture, mining, research, education, sports, governance and scholarship programmes.

He said this during the Botswana-Australia Business Forum in Perth on Thursday(September 7).

He further said Botswana offered a good base for well-established Australian mining and metal companies to do business in Botswana.

By doing business in Botswana, he said such companies would not only be servicing Botswana only, but the entire sub-Saharan region.
