Africa-Press – Botswana. President Mokgweetsi Masisi, has made new diplomatic appointments.
John-Thomas Dipowe has been appointed as Botswana’s Ambassador to the Federal Republic of Germany. Dipowe has over thirty years serving in the public sector including senior level experience in the Foreign Ministry.
Most recently, he served as the Permanent Secretary, Botswana Government Communications and Information Systems. Ambassador-Designate Dipowe will also be accredited to Poland.
Ambassador Benetia Tumelo Chingapane becomes Botswana’s Ambassador to the Federative Republic of Brazil. Chingapane has over twenty-five years serving as a career diplomat and currently, she is the Chief of Protocol in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The Ambassador-Designate will also be accredited to Chile, Argentina, Guyana, Venezuela, Colombia, the Caribbean Community (CARICOM), as well as the Southern Common Market (MERCOSUR). Shimane Kelaotswe has been appointed as Botswana’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. Kelaotswe has served at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for over three decades. He is currently Deputy Director in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The High Commissioner-Designate, will also be accredited to The Commonwealth, Malta, Spain, Portugal, Ireland, Israel, Romania, Slovak Republic, Cyprus, Croatia and Czech Republic.
