Africa-Press – Botswana. Team Strikers are this year’s Ghetto Cricket League Season 4 champions after beating Panthers in the finals on Saturday.

It was a battle of the cricketers as eight teams faced off in a fierce competition of the annual Ghetto Cricket league.

The passion by the players made the competition an event to remember and it was not easy to predict its outcome until the very end.

In the finals, the Strikers lost the toss and were put into bat.

They scored an impressive 86 runs from their allotted five overs, which proved to be a winning total as the opposition fell reasonably short of the target, whilst Panthers failed to meet the target.

The Ghetto Cricket League Season 4 finals was a hard-fought match between the two evenly-matched teams.

The Strikers were undefeated throughout the tournament and they continued their winning streak in the finals, ultimately claiming victory and being crowned the season 4 champions.

Their performance throughout the tournament was a testament to their talent and determination and they were met with cheers and applause from the crowd.

The season had been full of excitement and suspense, with each match bringing its own unique challenges and triumphs.

Panthers, Eagles and Nyangabgwe Night Riders also had impressive performances throughout the league season, which earned them a place in the semi-finals.

Their consistent results during the season landed them in the top four spots on the league table, making them the most promising contenders for the championship title.

Each team brought their best efforts to the semi-finals, but only two could advance to the final match and after an intense and thrilling competition, Strikers and Panthers made it to the final lap.

The Ghetto Cricket League Season 4 also saw a number of players receiving awards for their exceptional performances on the field.

Ashigul Islam was named the best player of the tournament, after showing exceptional talent and dedication throughout the matches.

Percy Mukoma was recognised as the best super striker, as he demonstrated both skill and precision in hitting the ball as well as winning the title of the best wicket keeper.

Mag-Daniels Hlabanero, the best fielder of the tournament, showed impressive agility and coordination on the field.

Lastly, Arbaz Sheik was named the best batsman of the tournament for consistently hitting the ball with accuracy and power.

In an interview, the event organiser, Deepesh Desaji, said he was delighted that the Ghetto Cricket League tournament was a success.

Desaji said they had a good turnout of players and were pleased to had attracted some of the best cricketers from the region.

He thanked all who participated and supported the tournament and looked forward to making it an even bigger event in the future.

The presence of numerous stalls offering various cuisines added to the cheerful spirit, providing attendees with a culinary adventure alongside the cricket action.
