Africa-Press – Botswana. Considerations will be made for the construction of the Charleshill Vocational Training Centre alongside others in future.

Minister of Education and Skills Development, Dr Douglas Letsholathebe said this when responding to a question in Parliament recently.

Dr Letsholathebe said the plan to construct the Charleshill training centre followed the 2006 government decision to take over brigades from community trusts.

He added that the project could not be implemented due to lack of funds.

He said the institution was not catered for in the subsequent National Development Plans.

“Currently TVET is undergoing transformation with focus on refurbishment of existing structures and improved relevance of courses,” he said.

Ghanzi South Member of Parliament, Mr Motsamai Motsamai had asked the minister to give a progress update on the commencement of the construction of the centre, saying that the identified plot had now turned into an illegal dumping site.
