Africa-Press – Botswana. His Excellency President Dr. Mokgweetsi Masisi has expressed gratitude to Estonia for the contribution they made towards the development of the Botswana Unified Revenue Services (BURS) Online Tax Returns system, which was done through an Estonian digital services company.
Speaking during the State Banquet hosted in honour of the President of Estonia Mr. Alar Karis, President Masisi thanked Estonia for including Botswana in its development assistance programmes for global digital transformation.
He added that the technical and development assistance that Estonia provides to the African Union Digital Agenda, through the AU-EU Digital for Development Hub (D4D), is commendable and will go a long way in supporting many African countries in their digital innovation efforts.
President Masisi emphasized that Botswana is eager to collaborate with Estonia to promote our knowledge and capacity in innovation, bio-technology, sustainable energy, engineering and mining research, using ICT.
