Africa-Press – Botswana. There are no less than seven additions to the 2021–2022 Botswana Football League (BFL) awards’ categories. This morning, the BFL announced that it will hold its end of the season awards on June 25.

The BFL has added seven new categories to take the total number of categories to 16, the most since the inception of the league.

Among some of the new categories are the Defender of the Season and Midfielder of the Season awards.

The matchday officials have been recognised with the introduction of two more categories in the Young Referee of the Season and the Female Referee of the Season.

There are also two more awards for the administrators in the Team Manager of the Season and the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Season awards.

The best performing players in this campaign will be included in the Premier League Best XI.

The BFL will announce the nominees in each category before the final round of league games to be played on June 4.

In December, the BFL announced the league champions will pocket P1 million.

• Player of the Season

• Players’ Player of the Season

• Goalkeeper of the Season

• Defender of the Season

• Midfielder of the Season

• Young Player of the Season

• Coach of the Season

• Referee of the Season

• Assistant Referee of the Season

• Female Referee of the Season

• Team Manager of the Season

• PRO of the Season

• Premier League Best XI

• Chairman’s Award
