Africa-Press – Botswana. The 2024/25 Botswana Volleyball Federation National Volleyball season is close to an end and the race for the crown is becoming intense among the 11 contenders.

Despite, having sustained a winning culture the whole season, the BDF VI ladies’ worst enemy has been Police VI ladies, who lost a solo game, managed to lead the race thanks to more games they played as compared to those of BDF VI ladies.

On Saturday BDF VI smoothly garnered maximum points from a duo of fixtures that were played at SSKB courts to ensure they remain second to none in the log, widening the gap between them and Police VI by six points.

BDF VI opened the week 12 fixtures by flogging the 4th placed Kutlwano VC 3-0. The BDF ladies closed the day by repeating the same score, now against the struggling Kalavango VC.

The BDF VI ladies head coach, Daniel Baoki said the team was eyeing the crown for the 24/25 BVF league come end of the season.

Baoki said their only remaining fixture was the toughest one of the season when they locked horns against Police VI.

The fixture which will be played on May 10, he said, would serve as a decider for the champions of the season.

“I think it is going to be a crowd puller as everyone will want to witness who will claim the title. It will be a tough clash for us to close the season with but I am confident that my ladies will get out of it victorious. The ladies have been so stunning throughout the season and can promise that we will be the champions,” said Baoki.

However, Baoki was alive to the fact that Police VI was also aware of the magnitude that the fixture carried, hence were also whetting arsenals for the encounter.

Other fixtures honoured on Saturday on the ladies’ side, Mafolofolo hammered Kalavango 3-0 whereas Kutlwano whipped Yaros 3-0.

Mafolofolo on their other fixture walloped Dynamites with a thrice of sets to nil.
