Africa-Press – Botswana. President Advocate Duma Boko left Gaborone on May 18 for a state visit to Tallinn, Estonia from May 19 to 22.

While in Estonia, President Boko will hold official talks with President Alar Karis and they are expected to discuss areas of bilateral relations that subsist between the two countries, notably in the fields of digital transformation and innovation, education and capacity building, trade and investment, as well as other areas of mutual interest.

The visit will also accord the two countries to review progress made, following agreed outcomes of the state visit undertaken by President Karis to Botswana in March 2024.

During the visit President Boko will also give a keynote address at the Latitude59 Businness Conference, a key calendar event regarded as Estonia largest annual startup and technology conference.

The event, scheduled from May 21 to 24 is anticipated to bring together global technology bloggers and enthusiasts, investors, entrepreneurs, media, academia and fund associates, accelerators and incubators to discuss the latest trends and innovation in technology industry.

Furthermore President Boko and his counterpart, President Karis will officially open the Botswana-Estonia Business Forum on May 21, an event host by Estonia aimed at promoting trade and investment between the two countries.

The President is accompanied by Minister for International Relations, Dr Phenyo Butale, Minister of Communication and Innovation, Mr David Tshere, Minister of Trade and Entrepreneurship, Mr Tiroeaone Ntsima and senior government officials.
