Africa-Press – Botswana. “It was probably my last game for Bayern”, said Robert Lewandowski after the draw with Bremen, in the last round of the Bundesliga, played on Saturday. The reaction came this Sunday, from the president of the club, Herbert Hainer.
“Robert has a contract until 2023 and that will be the time he will play at the club”, he told Sport 1, confirming that the 33-year-old Polish goalscorer declined a renewal proposal presented by the board: “we made an offer to expand the connection to the club. Apparently, he didn’t accept”.
“He said that we have to find a solution for both parties and Bayern is one of those parties. He has the right not to want to renew”, he added, also ensuring that the club is used to dealing with this type of situations: “In 2019 , we had the case where Robert fell in love with Real Madrid. We are familiar with the situation”.
