Africa-Press – Botswana. The Minister of Trade and Entrepreneurship Mr Tiroyaone Ntsima has said the ministry has secured through SPEDU, funding from European Union, to construct a connecting road between Platjan and Mathathane, which will link the Platjan Border Post to Selebi Phikwe through Bobonong.

Answering a question in Parliament on July 8, he said this was in its endeavour to provide infrastructure for ease of doing business. Mr Ntsima said several milestones had been achieved and that included detailed designs, development of the concept and EIA.

He said the final report on the land expropriation had been finalised and the compensation process had commenced. The minister also revealed that a tender on the construction of the road was undergoing evaluation and expected to conclude during the second quarter, while the construction was estimated to take 24 months.

He was answering a question from MP for Selebi Phikwe East, Mr Kgoberego Nkawana who had asked the minister to state his ministry’s plans on the construction of a road that would link the Platjan Border Post with Selebi Phikwe.
