Africa-Press – Botswana. The annual Botswana Consumer Fair, which is expected to take place from August 23 to 31, is a major economic catalyst with positive effects in the transport, hospitality, retail and creative sectors.

Addressing the media Tuesday in Gaborone, Fairgrounds Holdings chief executive officer, Ms Gorata Gabaraane said through the fair, business sales, market reach and partnerships would be improved as it enhanced visibility and growth opportunities for SMMEs and entrepreneurs, attracted local and international participants, earned foreign exchange and strengthened Botswana’s trade offer.

She also said the fair generated short and long-term employment since about 200 temporary staff and multiple service providers would be engaged for a period over the seven days.

Ms Gabaraane further said with local and international participants, the fair demonstrated Botswana’s capacity to innovate, compete and lead the global stage.

Fair and exhibitions manager, Mr Ontlametse Ramokgalo said they had two categories of exhibitors and the stall prices were determined by space and place, with international exhibitors paying between P8,000 to P12,000.

Mr Ramokgalo said they expected exhibitors to bring diversity, variety and inclusion sine 11 countries would be represented at the fair.

He said they had introduced Business to Business masterclass for the 2025 exhibition, to enhance training.

Mr Ramokgalo said they had partnered with Webtickets Botswana outlets, for patrons to buy tickets at Spar shops, selected Choppies supermarkets in Selebi Phikwe, Jwaneng, Tati, Francistown and Lobatse.
