Africa-Press – Botswana. ImpressUs, developed by young Batswana innovators, is a local content monetisation platform designed to enable creators across Botswana to earn from their creativity daily. The platform rewards the content creator whose post receives the most likes of the day with P1000.00, offering real and consistent income opportunities through digital engagement.
This innovation addresses long-standing monetisation challenges faced by local creatives, influencers, and digital storytellers. By providing a platform that rewards engagement, ImpressUs helps artists turn their digital presence into tangible income, supporting sustainable careers in the creative economy.
The app is set to launch on 8 October 2025, signalling a new era for Batswana creators. The platform allows them to compete and earn on a digital stage developed locally. Plans are already in motion to expand ImpressUs across the region, creating opportunities for wider participation and growth.
The Ministry of Sport and Arts (MoSA) has praised the team behind ImpressUs for their vision and contribution to Botswana’s digital ecosystem. Minister Jacob Kelebeng emphasised that the government remains committed to supporting technology-driven solutions that empower youth and showcase Botswana’s innovation globally.
MoSA has also engaged global platforms such as TikTok and Google to complement local monetisation efforts. Minister Kelebeng highlighted the importance of supporting homegrown initiatives, saying, “I am glad for the local innovative product, and I encourage Batswana to rally behind it. We are happy that you are an artist, and you are diversifying.”
ImpressUs positions Botswana as a leader in local content monetisation, providing creators with the tools, recognition, and income to thrive in the digital economy while reinforcing the country’s commitment to youth innovation and creative entrepreneurship.
