Africa-Press – Botswana. TABEF, a prestigious forum, brings together prominent representatives of public and private sector actors from both Africa and Turkey.

Botswana’s Minister of Trade and Entrepreneurship, Tiroeaone Ntsima, led a delegation of two officials including Director of International Business, Malebogo Kote and Maureen Chirengendure, principal commercial officer.

Speaking to BusinessWeek on the sidelines of the TABEF, Ntsima explained that Botswana continues to position itself as a competitive player in global trade, making attendance at the TABEF an imperative. He further stressed the country’s commitment to fostering a vibrant business environment and driving inclusive economic growth. The minister further outlined the key objectives and outcomes of Botswana’s participation.

“My mission is to provide strategic leadership in developing and implementing policies that foster a conducive business environment, promote investment, and drive economic growth in Botswana,” he said.

Ntsima highlighted that TABEF 2025 served as a timely platform for Botswana to engage with Turkish government officials, investors, and the private sector.

The forum, which convened ministers and delegates from across Africa and Turkey, focused on enhancing economic cooperation and partnerships particularly in trade and investment partnerships.

The minister also highlighted key takeaways for Botswana from TABEF 2025 as including amongst others:

• Trade expansion: Turkey’s ambition to grow its bilateral trade with Africa to $75 billion presents Botswana with new opportunities to diversify its export markets and strengthen its trade presence in Eurasia

• Sectoral opportunities: Discussions revealed strong prospects for collaboration in agriculture, renewable energy, mining, and manufacturing sectors that align closely with Botswana’s economic diversification agenda

• Strategic engagements: The forum facilitated high-level business-to-business and business-to-government engagements, offering a platform to explore joint ventures, investment initiatives, and policy alignment

Reflecting on the significance of these engagements, the minister the key takeaway from TABEF 2025 was the critical role of strategic partnerships in unlocking economic growth and transformation.

He vowed that Botswana stands ready to leverage these opportunities to attract investment, scale up trade, and build resilient industries that contribute to the national prosperity.

With renewed momentum following TABEF 2025, Ntsima was steadfast that Botswana is poised to deepen its ties with Turkey and further its development goals through targeted international collaboration.
