Africa-Press – Botswana. The Commissioning parade for Officer Cadet class 46 of 2025 took place at Sir Seretse Khama Barracks. The President of Botswana and Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces, Advocate Duma Gideon Boko, officiated the ceremony.

He congratulated the graduates of class 45 of 2025 for their sacrifice and for choosing to serve the country through the Botswana Defense Force. He said their commitment reflects strong patriotism and readiness to take on national responsibility.

This year’s commissioning group includes 149 Batswana officer cadets and two Zambian nationals. The presence of the two Zambian officers highlighted ongoing regional cooperation. President Boko said Botswana remains committed to joint military training with neighbouring countries to support regional stability.

Four cadets received awards for outstanding performance. Junior Under Officer B Makolo received the Commandant’s Award. Senior Under Officer T Bgwata received the Leadership Award. Officer Cadet B A Tlhabologo received the Distinguished Honor Award. Officer Cadet T Pamani received the Best Motivated Officer Award.

The programme equips cadets with core military knowledge and leadership skills. It prepares them for leadership roles within the defence force and builds the discipline needed for operational duties.

The event marked the beginning of service for the new officers who completed a demanding training process. They now step into positions that require focus, responsibility and commitment to protecting Botswana.
