Africa-Press – Botswana. BONA Life has partnered with Excel Golf Academy to launch a free golf training programme for nearly 100 children in the Maruapula area. The initiative, named the Maruapula Locxion Golf Programme, aims to promote golf development at the grassroots level and provide young people with access to structured sports training.
The programme is scheduled to run for two years, with BONA Life committing P150 000 to support training, equipment, and coaching. It targets children who have limited access to sporting opportunities, offering them a platform to develop skills, discipline, and interest in golf.
Excel Golf Academy will provide professional coaching, guiding participants through all aspects of the game, from basic techniques to advanced skills. The programme also aims to instill life skills such as teamwork, focus, and perseverance.
By introducing golf at the community level, organisers hope to nurture future talent and encourage healthy lifestyles among youth. The initiative is part of broader efforts to make sports more accessible and to create opportunities for children to explore new interests beyond traditional school activities.
