Africa-Press – Botswana. The Annual Maokane Football Tournament scheduled for December 27 to 31 has WUSA Clothing as one of its sponsors.
The company has donated a full football kit to eight teams from Maokane and surrounding areas that that will participate in the third edition of the tournament.
Maokane football tournament president, Othusitse Seane, has described it as an important event that engaged young people during the festive period and keeping them off the streets.
It also gives small business owners a chance to earn an income by selling food during the games.
With proceeds from previous tournaments, the organisers have managed to build a two-and-a-half-room house for a less privileged person in Maokane, and Seane appealed to businesses to support them.
The tournament’s new sponsor, Redpath, a mining company contracted by Debswana has donated P25 000 towards the event.
