Boatle-Ramotswa Road Set for Major Upgrade Starting December 1

Africa-Press – Botswana. The Boatle-Ramotswa road, the only link connecting Ramotswa to other areas, will undergo a major upgrade starting 1 December 2025. The project aims to improve safety, accessibility, and transport efficiency for residents and commuters.

During a Gamalete council meeting on Tuesday, Acting Director at the Department of Roads Maintenance in the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, Mr Mphetang Mmolawa, confirmed that the project received approval in August 2025. The upgrade is expected to take 10 months, with completion scheduled for October 2026.

The P37 million project will include an asphalt overlay to improve the road surface and the construction of two bus stops at pre-identified locations. The improvements are designed to support both private and public transport, making travel smoother and safer for daily commuters.

Mr Mmolawa emphasized the importance of the project for local development and connectivity. He urged drivers to plan alternative routes during construction periods to minimise disruption.

The road upgrade will enhance infrastructure in the area, boost local economic activity, and provide a safer travel experience for residents of Ramotswa and surrounding communities.
