Africa-Press – Botswana. <\/strong><\/span>Infighting at the Botswana Chess Federation (BCF) has heightened with the president, Mooketsi Segaise suspending his vice president-technical, Moses Khutsafalo on Sunday.
\n<\/b>
\nBut in a quick turn of events, Khutsafalo responded in kind and also wrote a letter suspending Segaise 24 hours later.<\/p>\n

Initially, Segaise said the federation was aware of certain allegations being peddled by Khutsafalo. \u201cIn our view, the allegations are leading the organisation, its executive, and membership into disrepute given the position you hold as mandated to you by the constitution,\u201d reads Segaise’s letter.<\/p>\n

But Khutsafalo hit back, accusing Segaise of maladministration. In his letter suspending Segaise, Khutsafalo listed the ‘charges’ in point form. \u201cFailure to account for all the funds from the proxy votes from the last elections.<\/p>\n

Failure to account for all the funds from entrance fees of the already held Federation tournaments. Failure to engage the executive committee and chess membership on the money you got from FIDE,\u201d Khutsafalo’s letter reads.<\/p>\n

Khutsafalo accused Segaise of voting during the FIDE elections on behalf of the federation without consulting the executive committee and the general membership.<\/p>\n

He said the president has also failed to account for money received for current sponsorships. Khutsafalo said Segaise requested Botswana National Sport Commission tickets for the Sports Awards without consulting the executive committee in the process, plunging the federation into debt.<\/p>\n
