Africa-Press – Botswana. <\/strong><\/span>A 27-year-old man of Sefhare left villagers reeling in shock after he recently attacked and raped his 75-year-old grandmother.<\/p>\n

The incident occurred at Mononyane ward in Sefhare village in a compound where both the victim and the suspect reside. The lad allegedly attacked his mother\u2019s aunt whilst sleeping alone in her bedroom late at night and raped her.<\/p>\n

Machaneng acting station commander, Assistant Superintendent Anastacia Mogale confirmed the sexual assault case.<\/p>\n

Mogale stated that the suspect has since been arrested and charged with a single count of rape.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe suspect is currently in custody and was recently arraigned before Mahalapye Magistrate\u2019s Court,\u201d Mogale said.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe allegedly returned home at night, found his family members sleeping and went to his grandmother\u2019s house, opened it, attacked and raped her. His grandmother identified him and reported the matter to the police after to the ordeal.\u201d<\/p>\n

Furthermore, she said the old woman was then taken to hospital for medical assistance. Mogale implored the youth to respect elders.<\/p>\n
