Africa-Press – Botswana. <\/strong><\/span>The Red Cross expressed concern about the Ebola situation in Uganda, which is “greater than our capabilities can accommodate at the moment”.<\/b><\/p>\n

“Looking at our demands and the expectations of the community, Ebola is really bigger than our capabilities can accommodate at the moment,” said Red Cross Communications Director Irene Nakasiita, this Tuesday.<\/p>\n

“While we aim to ensure our health through personal protective equipment, as well as other safety measures, we also have to support communities and they look to us for an alternative”, he said.<\/p>\n

“Until Uganda declares itself Ebola free, we cannot promise that this will stop during this period or in December or in January or in May or in March, but we just have to keep mobilizing resources so that we can be able to to fill in the gaps, with the biggest gaps being at the community level”, declared the representative of the Red Cross.<\/p>\n

According to data from Uganda’s Ministry of Health, since Ebola hit that region on 20 September, at least nine people have died from the virus, including a doctor, with 43 confirmed cases.<\/p>\n
