Africa-Press – Botswana. <\/strong><\/span>After winning the Mrs Botswana title last month, beauty queen Boipelo Erasmus\u2019 homecoming event on 12 October in Kanye will mark the beginning of her duties as the reigning queen.<\/b><\/p>\n

Erasmus became the sixth queen to be crowned Mrs Botswana and will represent the country at the Mrs Universe in Seoul, South Korea in December.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur queen started making her appearances last week when she went to see the Minister of Health, Edwin Dikoloti, to introduce herself as Mrs Botswana and that she was ready to serve,\u201d the Director and Founder of Mrs Botswana, Kgalalelo Lesetedi told Time Out.<\/p>\n

Lesetedi explained that as an employee of the Ministry of Health, Erasmus also went to request for work leave as she prepares for the finale, which requires her full attention, dedication and time.<\/p>\n

Road to Mrs Universe<\/b><\/p>\n

Lesetedi said the Mrs Botswana team is working tirelessly to help the reigning queen to bring the international crown home. In preparations for the world stage, Erasmus will be attending to her fitness, mentorship sessions, train for a talent night among several programmes lined up to position her for victory.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe was in Molepolole to meet her case study family project last week,\u201d she said. \u201cWe are also waiting for her scheduled appointments for meetings with the President, Mokgweetsi Masisi, as well as with other ministers.\u201d<\/p>\n

Familiar ground<\/b><\/p>\n

The reigning queen has previously won different crowns, including Miss Ministry of Health and Miss Vision 2016 and was a finalist for Miss Universe in 2012. Her project on Gender-Based Violence (GBV) and Child Protection aims to ensure that children do not grow to think GBV is normal following rising cases in the advent of the COVID-19 pandemic.<\/p>\n

Said Lesetedi: \u201cWe request support from fashion designers and anyone who would like to make a contribution to the queen\u2019s success. When she comes back with the coveted crown, it will be a victory and glory for the country and not just herself.\u201d<\/p>\n

Erasmus will leave for the Mrs Universe finale on 2 December and return on the 12 December.<\/p>\n
