Africa-Press – Botswana. <\/strong><\/span>Zimpraise will headline the second edition of Rise Up dubbed ‘Rise Up With Zimpraise’ to be held tomorrow at Molapo Piazza. This follows their last show in 2018, which was spearheaded by the Spirit of Praise.<\/b><\/p>\n

The follow-up event was put to a screeching halt when COVID-19 hit. Events and other activities that attract large crowds were suspended across the globe in an effort to curb the spread of COVID19. The second edition of Rise Up will mostly focus on the soothing sounds of gospel by Zimpraise, a gospel group from Zimbabwe, which was formed in 2005. The group has experience substantial growth in the last 17 years, and it has gained popularity both at home on the international stage. The group has performed in different places across the world including Europe. The gospel group, to date, has 15 albums under its belt and several hits to its name.<\/p>\n

Addressing the media, Chipo Sande of Zimpraise said that she is looking forward to performing in Botswana and delivering a good performance. \u201cTomorrow people can expect fireworks, expect to be blessed, and have the best time with us tomorrow night,\u201d Sande said.<\/p>\n

Joy Geche of Rise Up pleaded with Batswana to come out and support them, explaining that the show will only feature gospel music. She said this is what sets it apart from other events that are regularly held in the country. Geche pointed out that Rise Up has partnered with the AFM Church in Molepolole and they will be looking to help extend their church building, as it is small and fails to accommodate its large following.<\/p>\n

Other gospel artists expected to perform at the event are: Canaan Nyathi, Tshepo Lesole, The Ariels, and AFM Molepolole and AFM Tlokweng praise teams.<\/p>\n

Tickets for the event go for P250 for general, P350 for golden circle, and P1,000 for VIP experience where revellers will also get to meet the artists.<\/p>\n
