Africa-Press – Botswana. <\/strong><\/span>One of the country\u2019s sleeping giants, Tafic Football Club, looks set to rise from its long slumber to reclaim its position in Botswana football.<\/b><\/p>\n

The Francistown based outfit is reported to be on the verge of concluding a deal with one potential investor. The deal may see the new investor become a majority owner in the club, which is now a company.<\/p>\n

News of the impending takeover has already brought some air of optimism within the team\u2019s die-hard supporters. Many believe the deal will turn around the fortunes of the long-time local football super giant.<\/p>\n

While the news of the deal has been kept a guarded secret, expectation is that the investor will \u2018steer the wheel of transformation at Tafic\u2019.<\/p>\n

In an interview with Tafic public relations officer, Kabelo Dipholo, he confirmed that the negotiations with the investor are at an advanced stage. The deal with the financier is expected to be sealed by the end of the week.<\/p>\n

\u201cI can confirm that we are in negotiations with an investor whom I cannot mention because negotiations are yet to be concluded. We are expecting everything to be official by the end of the week or early next week. That is when we will be revealing the name of our investor,\u201d Dipholo said.<\/p>\n

The Tafic PRO further explained that the team is no longer a society but a company. He said issues of shareholding are some among others that they will be concluding during the week. In the recent past Tafic was like a yoyo toying between the premier league and first division north.<\/p>\n

Dipholo said the incoming team investor is a football passionate person who has been assisting the team. \u201cBefore the start of the current season he bought the team training equipment to boost the morale hence the team is doing well. He recently helped the team by covering the club\u2019s transport costs for away games,\u201d revealed Dipholo.<\/p>\n

An optimistic Dipholo said the supporters in Francistown and throughout the country can brace themselves for the team\u2019s come back as it is imminent.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is without a doubt that soon the team will regain its reputation and bring the glory days back,\u201d he said. Currently, the team is at the summit of the first division north league log standings with 14 points from six games. The team is yet to taste defeat in the league this season. It has netted eight goals and conceded three goals.<\/p>\n
