{"id":19018,"date":"2022-12-26T09:28:46","date_gmt":"2022-12-26T09:28:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/botswana\/all-news\/women-robbed-of-motshelo-cash"},"modified":"2022-12-26T10:51:16","modified_gmt":"2022-12-26T10:51:16","slug":"women-robbed-of-motshelo-cash","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/botswana\/all-news\/women-robbed-of-motshelo-cash","title":{"rendered":"Women Robbed Of Motshelo Cash"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Botswana. <\/strong><\/span><b>Three knife wielding and gun totting thugs have robbed five women of cash amounting to P50 000 last Thursday at Goo-Moloinyana ward in Molepolole.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>The unlucky women who were part of a 14-member motshelo group met their fate while awaiting for the rest of the team to arrive for what was supposed to be a night every member receive their share.<\/p>\n<p>Their excitement however soon turned into a nightmare as three men brandishing knives and a suspected pistol pounced on them.<\/p>\n<p>According to the police the trio immediately grabbed the money which was on top of a table, snatched handbags and cellphones before making a hasty exit aboard a black BMW.<\/p>\n<p>Molepolole Police Station Commander, Superintendent Benedict Matlho confirmed that they were investigating the armed robbery incident.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe received a report the same date Thursday; that the unknown men appeared from nowhere and attacked the women before escaping on a black BMW car,\u201d said Matlho.<\/p>\n<p>The Station Commander advised Metshelo groups to open bank accounts, to secure their funds, and avoid chatting about their fortune as it might attract thieves.
