Africa-Press – Botswana. <\/strong><\/span>A Botswana Defence Force (BDF) employee has been arrested in connection with a suspected rape incident of his girlfriend\u2019s best friend on Boxing Day.<\/b><\/p>\n

According to Tshesebe Station Commander Superintendent Mothusi Phadi, the trio who hail from Themashanga were on their way to Tsamaya village to continue their drinking spree, when the soldier made advances and demanded sex from his shocked victim.<\/p>\n

Press has learnt that when the girl told him that it\u2019d be immoral of her to sleep with him behind he best friend\u2019s back, the horny soldier did not take kindly to the rejection and dragged the girl to the nearby bushes in Tsamaya where he raped her.<\/p>\n

Like a soldier in the night, the accused fled the crime scene and vanished into the cover of darkness.<\/p>\n

Phadi said the shamed suspect however handed himself to the police the next morning at 5am where he was arrested and is currently awaiting arraignment at Masunga Magistrate Court facing a single count of rape.<\/p>\n

Superintendent Phadi appealed to men to exercise restraint and self discipline and desist from sleeping with women without their consent.<\/p>\n

\u201cRape is a serious crime. One can go to prison for 10 years or life imprisonment,\u201d warned Phadi.<\/p>\n
