Africa-Press – Botswana. <\/strong><\/span>The Secretary in the Office of the President, Ms Emma Peloetletse urged chiefs to work with the community to implement government programmes.<\/b><\/p>\n

Ms Peloetletse made the recommendation after a four-day workshop for members of the House of Chiefs on Friday,<\/p>\n

He stressed the importance of chiefs ensuring that President Dr Mokgweetsi Masisi’s aim of encouraging the community to do things in a different way, using their knowledge to improve themselves and mixing reforms comes true.<\/p>\n

Ms Peloetletse explained that it is important for chiefs to change the way they make plans to align with President Masisi’s restructuring program because the aim is to change, from the traditional approach to these objectives to see changes for the better in people’s lives<\/p>\n

\u201cThe hope is that you are going to share what you have been taught with other chiefs who are not members of the House of Chiefs. This study could be useless if it is not used,\u201d Ms Peloetletse explained.<\/p>\n

Ms Peloetletse explained that President Masisi’s transformation program would be launched and challenged chiefs to participate in taking the program to the people.<\/p>\n

The Secretary General said he hoped that the training had given the chiefs the knowledge so that they would be able to go and make changes in their respective villages.<\/p>\n

The workshop was conducted by the Botswana National Productivity Center (BNPC).<\/p>\n

Sharing his experiences with the workshop, Kgosi Nlakidzi Kabelo said he had learned a lot during the three days, saying he had experienced that a leader must know himself before he can know those he leads.<\/p>\n

Kgosi Kabelo said a true leader must look at his weaknesses and strengths in the work he does on a daily basis.<\/p>\n

When he left as the King of Batawana, Kgosi Kealetile Moremi indicated that he would start working with various branches of government in his constituency especially with the president’s programmes.<\/p>\n

He said that in the future the black education will enable them to make changes and do things differently as well as implement regeneration programs in their communities.<\/p>\n
