Africa-Press – Botswana. <\/strong><\/span>Members of Ntlo ya Dikgosi have not had an opportunity to be briefed on President Dr Mokgweetsi Masisi\u2019s Reset Agenda because the engagement and rollout of the Agenda was set out to be done in phases.<\/b><\/p>\n

Answering a question at Ntlo ya Dikgosi session, Assistant Minister for State President Mr Dumezweni Mthimkhulu said that the ministry was aware that members of Ntlo ya Dikgosi had never been briefed on the Reset Agenda.<\/p>\n

\u201cPhase 1 that covers government ministries, departments and Agencies, including State Owned Enterprises SOEs (Parastatals) is still ongoing and nearing completion,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Mr Mthimkhulu said that the engagement and roll-out was meant to expand the Reset Agenda priorities and challenge institutions to align the existing government strategies and plans to the Reset Agenda.<\/p>\n

Phase 2 of the Reset Agenda, which covers Parliament, Ntlo ya Dikgosi and the Private sector will be done on the 2023\/2024 financial year, he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cI therefore assure you, Mr Chairman that my team led by the Chief of Staff will brief Ntlo ya Dikgosi on the Reset Agenda and other pertinent issues that affect development in Botswana early in the 2023\/2024 financial year,\u201d said Mr Mthimkhulu.<\/p>\n

The assistant minister was responding to a question posed by Kgosi Sibangani Mosojane of North East Region who wanted to know if the minister was aware that Ntlo ya Dikgosi members had never been briefed on the President of Botswana\u2019s Reset Agenda, and only learnt about it through various forums such as full council meeting.<\/p>\n

Kgosi Mosojane also wanted to know if the minister would consider briefing members about the Reset Agenda and other pertinent issues that affect the development of Botswana.<\/p>\n
