Africa-Press – Botswana. <\/strong><\/span>Department of Wildlife and National Parks is on the look out for three elephants that have been spotted roaming around Kgatleng cattle posts since Friday.<\/b><\/p>\n

Kgatleng senior wildlife officer, Mr Kealeboga Komanyane, therefore, advised public members to exercise extra vigilance when moving around Radipalanyane, Mmakgopong, Lephala la Motlopi and Masama 3 areas.<\/p>\n

\u201cThese two are part of a group of 13 that was recently spotted in the Kweneng District, coming from Central Kalahari Game Reserve, which went their separate ways in search for water,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

He advised against the use of dogs and riffles or any other things that may make noise, as elephants are known not to be tolerant to such noise.<\/p>\n

Mr Komanyane said farm fence damages had been reported at Ditshwannyeng fields and the elephants tracks had been seen around Masama 3.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have been on the ground since they were reported and we have extended our search around the passages they used from Kweneng to Kgatleng as they tend to follow the same behavioural pattern,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, the wildlife officials appeal to public members to report any sightings of these elephants or anything suspected to be such animals to the nearest wildlife office, contact Mochudi wildlife office on 577 7155, 575 1119, 575 1120, report to the nearest police station or Leshibitse and Artesia kgotla.<\/p>\n
