{"id":23061,"date":"2023-03-02T15:19:45","date_gmt":"2023-03-02T15:19:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/botswana\/all-news\/ministry-introduces-health-sector-revolutionising-system"},"modified":"2023-03-02T15:52:50","modified_gmt":"2023-03-02T15:52:50","slug":"ministry-introduces-health-sector-revolutionising-system","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/botswana\/all-news\/ministry-introduces-health-sector-revolutionising-system","title":{"rendered":"Ministry introduces health sector revolutionising system"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Botswana. <\/strong><\/span><b>The Ministry of Health has launched a system aimed at making the health sector client-centric and compatible with information shared by different facilities.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Launched simultaneously in Gaborone, Letlhakane, Hukuntsi and Jwaneng Tuesday, the system, dubbed \u2018TsogoJwame\u2019 #GoDigital, would digitilise health services and give more Batswana better access to quality health services, including specialists based in far off places.<\/p>\n<p>This is according to assistant minister Mr Sethomo Lelatisitswe who explained that the intention was to harmonise management of all digitalisation initiatives, improve interoperability and sharing of information across the health sector.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe challenges we always have such as lack of data and information about patients who go to different health facilities will be a thing of the past, \u201d he said. Through the approach, Mr Lelatisitswe said, clinicians would be better equipped with tools and resources that enhanced access to real time patient information thereby enabling evidence based decision making.<\/p>\n<p>The system would therefore reshape the doctor-patient experience and ultimately give the patient access to quality and accurate health care, he said.<\/p>\n<p>Mr Lelatisitswe said timely use of technology was critical in safeguarding both patients\u2019 health and lives because speed was of the essence.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen you delay, it could mean deterioration of the disease or even death to the patient,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>The assistant minister said the project\u2019s development was in line with Sustainable Development Goal number three calling upon UN member states to do all in their power to increase people\u2019s access to quality health services by 2030.<\/p>\n<p>Unpacking the project, deputy permanent secretary Dr Onalenna Seitio-Kgokgwe said it was a response to President Dr Mokgweetsi Masisi\u2019s Reset Agenda priority emphasising the urgent need for digitalisation of services.<\/p>\n<p>She said the system would run in all clinics across the country allowing the sector to have a patients\u2019 history regardless of the clinics they visited.<\/p>\n<p><strong>For More News And Analysis About <a href=\"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/botswana\">Botswana<\/a> Follow <a href=\"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/\">Africa-Press<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Africa-Press &#8211; Botswana.
