Africa-Press – Botswana. <\/strong><\/span>Female learners at Chichi Junior Secondary School have been implored to focus on their studies.<\/b><\/p>\n

They were advised to derive life lessons from a Japanese Ikigai concept which means the value or worth of life.<\/p>\n

Miss Botswana 2021\/22, Palesa Molefe said this during a motivational event that was organised by the school\u2019s guidance and counselling office recently.<\/p>\n

\u201cYour Ikigai is your life purpose or your bliss, it is what brings joy and inspires you to get out of bed everyday,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

Molefe implored the girls to know what pleased them and how they could use that to serve the world, adding that by so doing they would be able to define their personal meaning of life.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou should use what you are good at to find your purpose in life and develop the conviction to do something in life as this will persuade you to study,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

She advised them not to clutter their minds with a lot of things as such would confuse them and make it difficult for them to find purpose.<\/p>\n

While sharing her experience in pageantry, Molefe made reference to Miss World 2021 where she made it to Top 40 by winning head-to-head fast track challenge, also placed Top 27 at the talent competition and Top 32 at the sports competition<\/p>\n

She noted that having met a lot of different characters in the field made her to develop a spirit of adaptation as a young black woman. \u201cYou need to always remember your beauty, power, strength, and make sure you take that space,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

She urged them never to doubt their worth and always be conscious that they were different and unique. \u201cAbove all you should never give up in what you want to achieve, always try, fail, accept failure and try again till you succeed,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

The school head, Mr Gaonyadiwe Nyere said girls contributed significantly to the academic performance of the school.<\/p>\n

\u201cGirls in our school are leading in terms of academic performance, we have improved from 21 per cent to 33 per cent in the 2022 JCE results and our target this year is 35 per cent pass, but even so we are optimistic that we shall achieve 52 percent pass rate,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

He, however, implored them to run with the message from the former beauty queen to transform their lives for a better future.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs a girl child you need to be exemplary in good etiquette and manners so that you can be empowered to be independent, especially in this challenging times, \u201d he added.<\/p>\n
