{"id":24138,"date":"2023-03-18T17:51:20","date_gmt":"2023-03-18T17:51:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/botswana\/?p=24138"},"modified":"2023-03-19T13:37:43","modified_gmt":"2023-03-19T13:37:43","slug":"jwaneng-galaxy-aim-for-double-silverware","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/botswana\/all-news\/jwaneng-galaxy-aim-for-double-silverware","title":{"rendered":"JWANENG GALAXY AIM FOR DOUBLE SILVERWARE"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Botswana. <\/strong><\/span><b>Botswana Premier League log pacesetters, Jwaneng Galaxy, have set their ambitions on winning both the league and the Orange FA Cup with the CAF Champions League the ultimate goal.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Galaxy, who are currently at the top of the league log with 46 points, were the biggest winners in the Orange FA Cup Round of 32 over the weekend when they hammered Second Division side, Masterpiece, by 10 goals to 2 at Galaxy Stadium in Jwaneng.<\/p>\n<p><b>Squad depth<\/b><\/p>\n<p>The Public Relations Officer of Jwaneng Galaxy, Tankiso Morake, has told that Coach Morena Ramoreboli has assembled a strong squad that can compete on all fronts.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen you look at the assembled team for this weekend, it is clear that we want to win the league,\u201d he said. \u201cWhen you look at the FA Cup, our message is \u201cTata Sonke,\u201d which translates into our aim to win everything.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Morake noted that all players have bought into the philosophy of the coach and morale is high. \u201cPlayers, management and supporters alike know what is needed in order to realise this dream,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Use of fringe players over the weekend was another indication of the high morale in the squad, he added.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe had so many players who came into the starting X1 for the first time in a long time and they still delivered,\u201d he said. \u201cThe team is ready to claim what is ours in any competition.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><b>CAF aspirations<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Morake emphasised that winning both silverwares will give them an opportunity to get back into the Confederation of African Football club competition, the CAF champions league, next season.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are a club that belongs in CAF competitions and it is our ambition to break into the group stages as we did last time,\u201d he asserted.<\/p>\n<p>Galaxy \u2013 who made history a few years ago by becoming the second local team to reach group stages of the CAF champions\u2019 league after Township Rollers \u2013 will be hoping to win the league and improve on their last showing.<\/p>\n<p>To that end, new signings have improved team stability. \u201cWe are aware that there will be some stumbling blocks along the way but we are prepared to fight all the way,\u201d Morake said.<\/p>\n<p><strong>For More News And Analysis About <a href=\"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/botswana\">Botswana<\/a> Follow <a href=\"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/\">Africa-Press<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Africa-Press &#8211; Botswana.
